I feel no statue of limitations on responding to people

Sometimes I let emails or conversations lag. It is a sad thing, but it happens. I make a note, “Have lunch sometime with [person]” and then I never get in touch with them and do it. But that note remains. Sometimes for months. On a few occasions for as long as a year. And I often do get around to it. I have no shame. In my opinion, there’s no statue of limitations on getting back to people. Being tardy in this way isn’t polite or desirable, but if it happens, I don’t think the solution is to just never talk again.
